March is wrapping up quickly and April is right around the corner. On April 1st A Spotted Pony Parade Day, by local author Kim Bond and illustrator Carissa Sorenson hits the shelves. It’s a bight and delightful story of the buffet-style adventures Toby the spotted pony enjoys during some community festivities. The local places and faces on the pages are a treat to see. Learn more at aspottedpony.com or put our copy on hold to read it for yourself!

Tuesday April 5th is going to be a busy day at the library. The day will start off with Roasts & Reads at 10 am by the fireplace. Come learn about what other people in our community are interest in and reading about and share your own recent reads. Sip on some coffee and have books added to your hold list to keep you reading all month long. It’s a great way to learn about recent releases along with new-to-you books and authors.

Then at 2 pm in the Burr Oak room, we’re hosting the first of an in-person series called Healthy Living with Diabetes, sponsored by the Aging & Disability Resource Center. The workshops are an evidence-based program for adults who have type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes or live with someone who does. Call ADRC to register at 1-877-833-5378. The workshop will be on Tuesdays from April 5-May 10, 2022, from 2-4:30 pm.

Later in the evening from 5-6 pm there will be an artists reception for Pat Dobrinska’s adult art students. The students are sharing their creative works with us all month long during their annual show in our Hickory Room. Come meet your talented friends and neighbors and see what marvelous things they have created. You just might be inspired to have an art show at the library yourself someday!

Despite all the happenings at the library on the 5th, April 6th doesn’t want to be forgotten. Bundle up the littles and join us for Storytime and play at 10 am. Take a break for lunch and naps, and then come back for the Friends Book Sale from 1-4 pm.
