Dartford Historical Society Spring Event

The program will feature a presentation on the first 50 years of Green Lake history from our founding in 1847, based upon Bret and Kimi Sandleback's book, Green Lake Archives. Recent additions to the Society’s collection will be on display, including a c.1905 Telephone Directory. The event will be in the Burr Oak room in the lower level of the library at 3:00 pm and repeated at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 20th.

The Green Lake Conservancy members will speak at the Spring Event about the recent acquisition of the historical property known as Powell Springs. A brief history of Powell Springs will be presented. As one of Green Lake’s first European residents, Powell was employed by the American Fur Trading Company owned by John Jacob Astor.

The Dartford Historical Society Spring Event is free to all, refreshments will be served, and registration is requested. Please sign up at the library’s front desk or respond via email here
