There’s plenty to enjoy at the library in the next couple of weeks. Starting on December 1st, Connie Willet will be displaying her detailed fiber art in our Hickory meeting room. Please come delight in the creativity on display and see if it sparks the passion for a new hobby! Also, on December 1st at 2 pm movie matinees in the lower level are resuming with a showing of Jerry and Marge Go Large.

Maybe all you’re looking for is a quiet chair by the fireplace to read the newspaper or dive into your next new book but if you’re looking for programming, we have a bundle of opportunities next week:

Monday, December 5 brings the next installment of our Spice of the Month Club, and this time Nutmeg is on the menu.  We will have a few samples to try around 10 am. We had a great response to last month’s spice and can’t wait to hear what you think of nutmeg in the drinks and sweets recipes included in the pack or your own inventive option. While you’re here for a spice packet, stay for the laughter and conversation during the Knitting Group meeting from 10 am—noon.

Tuesday, December 6 brings fun for all ages with our Play & Build group in the lower level that has a wide variety of open-ended play and socialization opportunities for kids under 6 years old from 10 am-noon. For coffee and book lovers Roasts & Reads also starts at 10 am. Cozy up by the fireplace to share what you’ve been reading, chat with your neighbors, and get inspiration for new reads and authors to pursue.

Wednesday, December 7 brings a few of our favorites: Storytime for kiddos and caregivers at 10 am and a Friends Book Sale from 1 pm-4 pm.

Thursday, December 8 kicks off the second Sit & Stitch session for focused time with your sewing projects. Bring all the necessary supplies and equipment or just a curious mind that wants to learn from a variety of projects and skill levels. Pack a lunch to bring or visit a local restaurant to keep up your sewing stamina! The movie matinee showing at 2 pm today will be Amsterdam. The popcorn is free!

Friday, December 9 at 1 pm come to the library at get crafty and learn the skills to make some folded book trees. All materials and instructions will be provided to DIY a festive decoration to give as a gift or keep for your home.
