The Caestecker Public Library Thursday Movie Matinees will continue with a slight change this week. On November 30th at 2pm we will be showing Oppenheimer instead of Marcel the Shell with Shoes On. If you are interested in seeing Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, we have it available for checkout to view at home. As the film industry and viewing licensing continues to change, public viewing of certain movies has become more difficult. While we have a movie license for public viewing that covers most movies, there has been a recent change to tack on a high-cost Single Event License requirement for some movies, and unfortunately, Marcel falls into this new category. Hopefully, Oppenheimer will be an enjoyable substitute.

With a new month ahead of us, we can look forward to a new Spice of the Month: rubbed sage. Each spice packet will have a variety of recipes to try and a sampling of rubbed sage to complete your recipe. Spice packs are released on Monday, December 4th, first come first served.

We can also look forward to another round of Roasts & Reads on December 5 at 10am. Visit with library staff and your neighbors by the fireplace to enjoy coffee and discuss recent reads and new releases for the month. It’s a great opportunity to grab a new BookPage and take some brand-new releases home. If there are any books that catch your interest, we can place holds for you to keep you reading all month long.

All are welcome to the the final Friends book sale of 2023 on Wednesday, December 6 from 1 pm—4 pm. We receive donations from the community every day and have a new selection of books, movies, puzzles, and games ready to find new homes.
