Congratulations to the Mill Pond Public Library in Kingston! Thank you to all our communities for showing each library support, donating your pennies and more, and making it a fun competition. Those pennies do add up to great things!

The talented Nancy Kirst has graciously adorned the walls of our Hickory Room with her detailed watercolor portraits and paintings. Please stop in this month and look at her work, you just might see familiar faces! After viewing the artwork, please leave a comment for Nancy in the guest book on the table.

The Green Lake County Fair starts this week, and you’re invited to bring the family over to the Kid Zone Tent on Thursday, August 4th at 10:30 am for Storytime, crafts, and a fun puppet show with the Green Lake County Libraries. While you are touring the Fair, stop and grab a free book at the Friends of the Caestecker Public Library booth.

Later in the day on August 4 our movie matinee will be Downton Abbey: A New Era, starting at 2 pm. Next week on August 11th Minamata will hit the big screen. There’s always free popcorn to munch during the show.

We are looking forward to hosting the Green Lake Festival of Music and the Third Lake Brass Quintet at the library on Friday, August 5 at 2 pm as part of the Thomas E. Caestecker Family Concert series. Weather allowing, the concert will be outdoors in the library side yard. Please bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the concert will move to the lower level of the library. Regardless, there will be excellent entertainment and an ice cream social for all to enjoy!
