That’s a wrap on Summer Reading! We had a fantastic lineup of programs and opportunities, great community involvement, and many happy faces visiting us regularly.  Seven weeks of daily weekday programs brought just over 2,000 participants to our library for programs alone. Rain or shine, hot or hotter, the library is a wonderful place to be in the summer and we are grateful that you chose to visit with us! Our summer reading community art tree will continue through August. We have a few canvases left and all are invited to participate. If you haven’t picked up a mini canvas to decorate, please do so and return as soon as possible to help fill our tree.

The summer isn’t over yet, and we have plenty to keep you busy with at the library. For movie fans, plan to be at the library on Thursday, August 10 at 2 pm to watch The Lost King on the big screen with free popcorn. Next week’s movie is Paint on Thursday, August, 17 at 2 pm. The Knitting Group meets on Mondays, Play & Build gathers on Tuesdays, Storytime is on Wednesdays and all the fun starts at 10 am. If you’ve heard about our Caestecker Cooks the Cookbook Club, we still have a few openings for the upcoming sampling lunch on August 17th from 11:30-1 pm. Visit the front desk to checkout a copy of Arabesque by Claudia Roden and sign up with your dish of choice.

This weekend is the annual Fine Art Fair weekend and the Friends book sale. The book sale runs Saturday, August 12th from 9 am-3 pm and Sunday, August 13th from 10 am-3 pm. Stop in for terrific bargains on gently used books, movies, music, and more.

As always, there are more details on all those events and more at greenlakelibrary.org and our Facebook page. We hope to see you in the coming week!
