Do you love the painted rocks around town but are more of a soft and sewful sort? Join some local crafters as they sew up some kindness to share with the community. Supplies and sewing help will be provided for this free all ages craft program. If you have material, buttons, or other bits and bobs that you would like to include on a heart or share with the group, then you are welcome to do so. Come on over to the Hickory room at the library on Thursday, August 25 at 1:00 pm.

After you’ve crafted to you’re hearts content, stay for our 2:00 pm showing of The Duke starring Jim Broadbent and Dame Helen Mirren. Popcorn will be provided for the film. Next week’s movie will be Jurassic World Dominion which is the epic conclusion of the Jurassic World era.

With school starting back up schedules are shifting to new rhythms. If you have some things on your back-to-school list that might need to be copied, scanned, faxed, or laminated and the library is here to help with that. We have books, movies, magazines, and puzzles to checkout to help relax and unwind or study up for the school year’s first paper. Our Wi-Fi is free, and we have plenty of tables and spaces to study after school. If you or your kids don’t have a library card, September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and a library card is one of the most cost-effective back-to-school supplies available. The library staff are wishing all of our young friends a fantastic start to the school year!

With the shift back to school, Tia our R.E.A.D. therapy dog will have her last visit with us on August 31 at 10:30 am. Visiting with Tia is a great way to build reading confidence right before the first day of school. Storytime will continue at 10:00 am on Wednesdays with stories and songs for the little ones and their caregivers. We hope to see you at the library soon.
