The final Friends of the Caestecker Public Library Book Sale for 2024 is coming up on Wednesday afternoon, December 11, from 1-4:00 PM. It’s a perfect opportunity to check a few more items off your gift list, as there have been many terrific donations in the past few weeks.

Before then, though, we have some holiday fun to share. The Friends have decorated one of the trees at Town Square, decorated with books that are free for the taking! Talk about a great way to get into the spirit of the season. Thanks to all the Friends elves who are helping to keep the tree decorated throughout the season.

This month we’re pausing our Spice of the Month packets and trying a new way to share recipes: Recipe Swap! December’s theme is Christmas Cookies, and we have a few starter recipes available to pick up. If you would like to participate, bring in your favorite recipes, family traditions, or new finds and we can help you make copies to swap with other community members.

All are invited to visit our Hickory meeting room this month to view the beautiful collection of artworks by Bev Wilson. The Wilson family would like to share with the Green Lake community their beloved wife and mother’s passion for portraiture and landscapes. Please mark your calendar for the upcoming reception to visit with members of the Wilson family at the library on Sunday, December 15th from 1:00-3:30 pm.

Movie Matinees continue in December on Friday afternoons at 2:00 pm. Here’s our lineup for the month:

  • December 6th: The Boys in the Boat
  • December 13th: Reagan
  • December 20th: Journey to Bethlehem
  • December 27th: Dune Part Two

More details and events can be found at greenlakelibrary.org or by following the Caestecker Public Library on Facebook. We hope to see you soon!
