Summer reading programming has begun! Kids and adults are welcome to participate in our reading Bingo this year to earn prizes, have fun, and have a chance to give back to the community. Every weekday provides an opportunity to participate in events happening at the library and all our events are listed at greenlakelibrary.org and on our Facebook page. There are plenty of drop-in activities, comfortable seating, and plenty of play opportunities for the kids on the rainy days and hot days of summer ahead.

On Thursday, June 29 starting at 10 am, please set a reminder or mark your calendar for a Thomas E. Caestecker Free Family Concert from the Green Lake Festival of Music featuring the Balourdet Quartet at the Caestecker Public Library. The Balourdet Quartet is an award-winning string quartet visiting us from Boston, Massachusetts for a free concert enjoyable by all ages. You won’t want to miss it!

We receive new books and DVDs every day including all the best thrillers, nonfiction, romance, family stories, picture books for the little ones, a few fantasy stories, and beach reads. We hope you will visit to peruse the new sections often. What we don’t have on the shelf we might be able to get for you from another library. Then there are even more options on our digital platforms—try out the Libby app for audio, eBooks, and magazines or Hoopla for audiobooks, eBooks, movies, and music. If you’re more into movies we now have access to the Kanopy streaming service. Visit our website for links and information or visit your device’s app store with your library card handy to download and sign up today.

Our two-week movie line-up includes Mafia Mama on Thursday, June 22 and Man From Toronto on Thursday, June 29. Movies start at 2pm on the lower-level big screen and popcorn is provided. Whether it’s for movies on the big screen, new books or DVDS, summer reading programs, or just a daily visit, we hope to see you at the library soon!
