School may be ending, but the summer programs are just getting started here at the Caestecker Public Library. Come visit our meeting rooms to see an amazing display of Green Lake School student artwork and vote for your favorite masterpieces for a People’s Choice Award in two categories. The top three winners in each category will receive prizes and ribbons. The displays will be up all of June.

This coming Saturday the Friends of the Library invite you to stop by before or after your visit to Dino Daze at Town Square for dino-mite deals on used books, movies, music, puzzles, and more from 9:00 am-1:00pm in the lower level of the library.

On Friday June 14 at 10:00 am, the Green Lake Festival of Music will bring a Chicago-based brass trio for a free performance in the Burr Oak room at the library. V3NTO expands the boundaries of a relatively small repertoire, bringing brass trio music to life in a variety of settings.

During our first week of summer reading programming, we are kicking things off with Mark Hayward, a world-class yo-yo performer and comedy juggler. Yo-yoing offers wide ranging appeal, from adults who played with yo-yos when they were young, to today’s children with their best yo-yo years still ahead of them. This program will appeal to all ages, is free to attend, and wanting to practice your own yo-yo tricks. Join us on Monday, June 17th at 10:00 am.

The folks from Missoula Children’s Theatre will be in town later this month, and they will take time out from rehearsals at Thrashder Opera House to give two workshops at the library from 9:00 am-10:00 am on Tuesday, June 18th and Thursday, June 20th. Watch the events calendar on our website www.greenlakelibrary.org for details.
