The library will be CLOSED on Thursday, January 25 and Friday, January 26 for electrical upgrades in the fireplace area. When the project is complete, the tables in the front sitting area will have access to electrical and USB outlets to increase usable workspace for laptops and devices within the library setting. No library materials will be due while the library is closed. Our digital library offerings are open 24/7. Have you heard about sending Valentines to WI Veterans homes? The Green Lake County libraries would like to be a part of that. Each library will have Valentine’s cards available at the front desk for patrons to fill out when they visit us. On January 31st, we will send them off, so the Dept of Veterans Affairs has enough time to distribute the cards to the former service members and their spouses who live in the veteran homes in Chippewa Falls, King, and Union Grove on Valentine’s Day. So next time you are at the library, take a moment to send a short message to a Veteran to let them know they are not forgotten and to brighten their day!
We have a bunch of upcoming programs that you will want to mark your calendars for in the coming month. February is National Library Lovers Month and to celebrate we’re hosting our annual Blind Date with a Book and a display on Valencrimes. If you’re of a crafty nature, come make paper roses at our next Crafternoon on February 9 from 2-3pm. The Friends of the Library are hosting a Warm Your Heart at the Library Hot Chocolate Bar on Saturday, February 17 from 10-11:30am, the Knitting Club is holding a Stuffed Animal Hospital to fix up ripped or damaged stuffies on February 19 from 10am-noon, and our next meeting of the Silent Readers Book Club is on February 21 from 2-4pm. Road to the Oscars dates and film lineup will be announced soon after the official nominations are released. Tax forms have started to arrive, and our Seed Library will be ready in the coming weeks!
