If you’re visiting with family or friends in the coming weeks and the talk turns to genealogy or local history, our archives of newspaper microfilm are fully digitized and available from any device. Digital editions of the Green Lake County Reporter from 1919-2005 and a variety of other local papers and census records can be viewed in fully key word searchable format online. Newer editions of the Green Lake County Reporter can also be found via NewspaperARCHIVE available on our website. Visit greenlakelibrary.org and click on the Digitial Library tab on the left side of the page to find and search through a treasure trove of local Wisconsin history.
The library will be closed several days this weekend to allow staff and volunteers time with their loved ones. We are open Friday, December 22 as usual (9:00 – 6:00), then closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We reopen Tuesday morning at 9:00 for all your post-holiday reading, listening, relaxing, and viewing enjoyment. Stop by the library with the family during our open hours to do the scavenger hunt and pick up cheery craft packs to do at home, while supplies last.
As an early Christmas present, the Friends of the Library have announced their first book sale for 2024 will be Saturday, January 13 from 9 am – 1 pm. From all of us at the Caestecker Public Library, we hope you have a very merry and safe Christmas!
