Caestecker Public Library

What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities. National Library Week, April 6–12, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

We invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you’re a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer. Come browse the stacks, collaborate on a project, make memories on the Remembrance, get tech help with your device, read the newspaper, view the works of art in the Hickory room, or visit with your friends and neighbors.

Wrapping up Library Week finds our next Besties event for young library friends. Saturday morning, April 12, will find us celebrating all things animals. Students in grades K-6 are invited to join us in front of the fireplace at 10:00 to talk about your favorite animals, animal books, animal themed snacks, and an opportunity to design your own critter.

Movie Matinees in April are as follows:

Friday, April 11: September 5

Friday, April 25: Venom, The Last Dance

Shows start at 2:00 pm in the Burr Oak room with free popcorn to enjoy. There will not be a movie on April 18th as the library will be closing at 1:00 pm.

Local writers are encouraged to join our creative writing for adults’ program to draw out the memoirs and musings that are waiting to make the leap to paper. Participants are invited to explore the writer’s craft, share current projects, receive constructive feedback, and find inspiration during this bi-monthly gathering. Writers of all levels are welcome, from beginners to seasoned authors. Allow your peers to help you make your writing dreams a reality Sunday, April 13th and April 27th, 1:30-3:30 pm in the Hickory room.

Whatever draws you in, the library has something for everyone. Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, or embracing retirement, the Caestecker Public Library is here to support your journey. We hope to see you soon!
