We only have a little more than a week left of summer reading fun! Our last big summer performer is Curt Strutz with Dinosaur Dimensions on Monday, July 25 at 10 am. It’s sure to be a dino-mite time when you can meet realistic dinosaurs and learn all about them. Curt will provide a fun experience with animatronic dinosaurs including a pink baby triceratops and an adolescent raptor. All ages are welcome at this free and family friendly event.
You know what keeps growing at the library? The book sale offerings. Boxes and bags of books, DVDs, puzzles, music, and even more books come through our doors every day. Thank you to all who donate to our sale offerings as the funds generated from sales go right back into the library for programs, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, and special projects. The next chance to shop the new merchandise at the Friends Book Sale is Saturday, July 23 from 9 am- 1pm.
Our Crafternoon on Tuesday, July 26 at 1 pm gives you the opportunity to learn how to marble clay and make a trinket tray. It will be a beautiful and useful way to collect odds and ends throughout the day. We provide the materials and the know-how; you provide the hands and creativity. This workshop is geared towards adults, but teens are welcome to join in the experience.
With summer school at an end for the year, you might be considering a family vacation. If you’re going to be on the road or in the air for a time you might enjoy the freedom of an eBook or audiobook can give you. Go to your app store, download the Libby by Overdrive and Hoopla apps, enter your library card number and pin, and start downloading titles in your chosen format. The account and downloads are free for you to use. Digital checkouts automatically return so there aren’t any late fees. There are also a bunch of family friendly titles to listen to together while on your way to your vacation destination.
