We have a lot to be thankful for this week. The Friends’ Art Fair book sale netted over $2,122, which is astounding as most of the items are priced at $1.00 or less. That’s a lot of items sold, and we are extremely grateful. The Friends use the money raised from the book sales to purchase materials including magazine and newspaper subscriptions for the library, pay for the special programs and other requests, and support hospitality at our events. Wonderful friends to have, indeed.

We couldn’t hold these successful sales without our dedicated team of volunteers who sort, price, and display all the donations so freely given by the community. We also couldn’t do it without the people who shop and tell their friends! Please know that we truly appreciate every sale, every donation, every kind word. It’s good to know there are so many folks who choose to support the library. Hopefully you found some good deals to take home along with our thanks!

Library events coming up in the near future include the August 17th 2pm showing of Paint starring Owen Wilson as Carl Nargle, a local treasure on Vermont public television with a soothing whisper of a voice who hosts his own painting show. Next week’s movie on August 24th will be Maggie Moore(s). In between movies and our regular Knitting Group, Play & Build, and Storytime we hope you visit to check out some books or DVDs for home enjoyment. If you’d rather have a quiet place to work, our meeting rooms are becoming more available, and we have free Wi-Fi and a variety of seating options throughout the building. We hope to see you soon!
