It’s Garage Sale weekend in Green Lake! Visit the lower-level of the Caestecker Public Library May 5&6 from 9am-1pm for special deals to take advantage of this weekend. All DVDs are priced at $1 and if you buy two books of the same value you get one free. If you spend $10 you can enter a drawing for a free Green Lake Memories II book by Thomas Gnewuch. The Friends of the Library have been hard at work creating new displays and putting out all the new donations. We also have a nice selection of tshirts and tote bags available. There’s always something new to find at the Friends Book Sales!
Our May Crafternoon opportunities have been split into two options: Friday, May 12 at 1pm and Thursday, May 25 at 1pm. Add some plant life to your home with a simple macramé hanging jar holder. Perfect for plant/flower clippings, succulents, or air plants. Crafternoons are free, however, due to limited space we are requesting that you sign up, you must call 920-294-3572 or stop by the front desk to secure your spot.
If you haven’t had a chance to join the Sit & Stitch crew yet, check it out this month! We love to see the projects that are coming together and hear the laughs from this group. Even if you don’t bring a project to work on and you just want to see the setup, please come visit and be inspired by the creativity on Thursday, May 11 from 10am-3pm.
Finally, our new Caestecker Cooks the Cookbook Club starts this month on Thursday, May 18 from noon-1pm in the Burr Oak room. Join others who enjoy cooking for this book club dedicated to cookbooks! Each month we will highlight a selected cookbook and club attendees can select and prepare one recipe to bring to our monthly meeting for a potluck style sampling social. Our first cookbook selection is Barefoot Contessa at Home by Ina Garten.

- Browse or check out the featured cookbook, copies will be available at the library.
- Sign up at the front desk with your chosen recipe from the cookbook.
- Bring your dish to the monthly meeting.
- Eat, drink, and be merry with us!
- One lucky winner will receive a copy of the cookbook at the lunch, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
